Make sure to add Red Reef Park to your list of fabulous places to visit in Boca Raton.  The 67-acre oceanfront park is located on the AIA Highway and offers an assortment of amenities amid natural scenery.  Beach access is available from designated park locations and foot traffic is limited to elevated walkways.  Snorkeling is a popular activity at the park's south end and lifeguards are typically on duty from 9am to 5pm year round. 

 

Boca Raton Butterfly GardenThe fascinating Gumbo Limbo Nature Center showcases an exquisite Butterfly Garden, in full bloom during the months of May and June.  Enjoy seeing a plethora of butterflies including the Monarch, Sulphur, and Zebra Longwing, which is Florida's state butterfly.  The center also features an outdoor amphitheater, the Ashley Trail, and scenic areas overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. 

Discover several exhibits including a Sea Turtle Garden, a container garden with herbs and local flora, a gopher tortoise exhibit, a sea turtle safe lighting exhibit, a rain barrel, and a solar exhibit. Be sure to explore the outdoor marine aquariums housed in beautiful wood pavilions too! 

 

Spanish River Park, nearly 95 acres in size, earned its name from the shallow freshwater stream which once flowed along the western edge of the park.  Since channelization by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the park's river has become known to boaters as part of the Intracoastal Waterway.  Visit the park daily from 8AM til sunset.

 

shutterstock_479129356Boca Raton's Coastline to the Atlantic is known for a two-mile stretch of lifeguard protected beaches. Isolated and serene, the pristine area provides recreational use and is dotted by sand dunes, sea oats and sea grapes. 

 

Helpful beach mats are accessible year round by wheelchairs and pedestrians and are located at the boardwalk at South Beach Pavilion and within the middle tunnel at Spanish River.  Speak to a gate attendant upon arrival is you'd like to employ a beach wheelchair for physically challenged beachgoers.

 
 
 

FAU Stadium is located at the north end of the main campus of Florida Atlanta University in Boca Raton.  Home to the Florida Atlantic Owls football team, the stadium opened in 2011, as the first part of the university's 'Innovation Village'.

 

The unique hand-on Children's Science Explorium located in 132-acre Sugar Sand Park is designed for children ages 5 to 12 and offers interactive and fascinating permanent and traveling exhibits, camps and programs of physical science to life.  The family-friendly park for residents and visitors, also housees the Willow Theatre, a Community Center and Field House with an indoor Gymnasium.

 

Visit the Boca Raton Children's Museum on Crawford Boulevard for a variety of activity centers to occupy your children's attention for hours.  The fabulous Science and Engineering Center offers kids of all ages the opportunity for hand-on play with magnets,  building and construction toys, mechanical toys and more.  In the 'Wanna Be Square' area, dress up as a firefighter, policeman, doctor or teacher and experience a professional job.  There is also a Grocery Store to learn about healthy foods, a bank and post office, storytelling center and a special pirate island.

 

If you adore Broadway productions, there is no better place for you than Wick Theatre and Costume MuseumOpened in November 2013 and housing original wardrobes from over 35 Broadway productions and revivals, the museum has entertained thousands of patrons in a relatively short period of time.  The theatre and museum function together, making the Wick Theatre and Costume Museum a cornerstone of arts in Palm Beach County

 

The Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum is known for its stewardship of two landmark building in Boca Raton including the F.E.C. Railway Station and Town Hall.
