bigstock--198143674.jpgCorpus Christi, or simply Corpus to the locals, is a big Texas city, offering hundreds of things to do, experience, and see for locals and travelers alike. Often called the ideal weekend trip, a visit to Corpus Christi is full of culture, nature, history, and fun. Soak up sunshine and splash in the waves of a gorgeous sea during the day, then hit the inner city of bars, clubs, and thriving nightlife until the wee hours.

The possibilities for entertainment and fun are near endless in Corpus Christi.

Experience a variety of fun things to do in Corpus Christi!

Corpus Christi is known for being a fun, bold, and loud town, but the city also takes prides in being the hometown of Selena Quintanilla—a beautiful songstress that tragically passed away when she was only 23 in 1995. Since then, her family has taken measures to remember the late singer with The Selena Museum, a tribute that celebrates her life and accomplishments. The museum is filled with memorabilia, including the GRAMMY award that Selena won in 1994, many of the singer’s iconic outfits, and her beloved red Porsche.  Corpus Christi loved Selena, so you will see evidence and memorials to the late songstress throughout the city, including a star on the South Texas Walk of Fame, and the Hi-Ho Spanish restaurant that was a favorite of the Quintanilla family.

Locals and travelers alike usually find themselves walking seaside on Padre Island, where the Padre Island National Seashore is a beautiful, breezy paradise attraction.

The barrier island is well-preserved, with year-round warm temperatures and lots of things to do and see. For instance, there are several campsites on the island, complete with firepits—so, you and your family can camp under the stars while listening to the waves. Or, rent a 4-wheeler and cruise the tight-bigstock-Pier-On-Padre-Island-Southern-3902074.jpgpacked sands of the seashores at sunset. Be sure to keep your eyes on the horizons for a glimpse of dolphin pods, small whales, and shark fins.

Since Corpus Christi is a seaside city, you can, of course, expect an abundance of great seafood restaurants. Sure, there are a few dozen dynamic restaurants that serve up a plethora of cultural cuisine favorites, but seafood is go-to fare in this booming town.

Snoopy’s Pier on South Padre Island Drive is a local favorite that serves up the best, fresh-caught seafood in heaping portions. This restaurant offers no-frills, as you eat off of plastic plates with plastic silverware, but you do get delicious food and an awesome view. Around for decades, the restaurant has offered the same menu of scrumptious options for years, including the fried oyster sandwich, deviled crab plate, shrimp creole, and classic fish and chips.
